This site publishes short summaries of health and healthcare reporting, and a smaller run of articles on adult education. One page each: what was studied or decided, by whom, and what it does and does not show.
The domain name is political and the archive is not. Rather than pretend otherwise: what is here is health, the healthcare system, and adult learning — and that is what the site is run as.
How we report health studies
- A study is a report, not an instruction. Every article here describes what researchers or a health authority published. None of it is a recommendation for a reader, because a general finding cannot see your history, your medication or your risk.
- The percentage is usually the least useful number. “Twenty per cent lower risk” says nothing until you know what the risk was to begin with. That is why the site has a risk calculator: it turns a reported relative change into the absolute one, and into the number of people who would have to be treated for one to benefit.
- We do not claim clinical review. Nobody here is a doctor, a nurse or a pharmacist, and no article on this site has been checked by one. Any page that told you otherwise would be lying, and a badge saying “medically reviewed” is exactly the kind of thing that is easy to print and hard to verify.
- Everything carries a date, and health writing needs it most. These reports are from 2022 and 2023. Guidance changes, trials fail to replicate, drugs are withdrawn. An article here is a record of what was published then.

- Health & medicine — research and clinical practice: oncology, vaccination, dentistry, dermatology, nutrition, mental health.
- Healthcare & policy — the system rather than the illness: hospitals, emergency departments, staffing and regional administration, largely from Italy.
- Adult education — literacy, continuing professional education, learners with disabilities, teaching across cultures.
Where the archive came from
Most of the health reporting covers the Italian system and reached English through translation, which is where names of hospitals, regions, officials and drugs tend to get bent. If you spot one, please tell us.
