Child deafness: the Aorn Santobono-Pausilipon among the excellence in Italy in the diagnosis and treatment of infantile ipoacusia.
In Trieste, where the conference has just ended "To hear "(September 5 u.s.), the guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of child deafness were presented. To write them and allow the deaf children to feel and live a normal life, five centers, identified by the Ministry of Health and coordinated by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, (Trieste, Pisa, Perugia, Rome and Naples) have united forces, in alliance , to open new prospects for taking charge of small patients. The president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Debora Serracchiani, thanking all the professionals committed to returning to children a normal life, said that: "The goal achieved by the project represents a strength of our public health ”.
Among the Italian excellence, the regional reference center for Coclearic plants in pediatric and diagnostics of Audiology of the Santobono Aern – was present; Pausilipon of Naples, directed by Dr. Antonio Della Volpe. Great satisfaction was manifested by the experts who together with the director have actively worked on the realization of the guidelines. The enthusiasm of the D.Ssa Antonietta De Lucia Orl, made it possible to channel the energies of the multidisciplinary working group, involving in turn the speech therapists d.SSA Ippolito Valentina, D.Ssa very good Irene, the audiometrist technician Dr.
Pastore Vincenzo and the psychologist D.SSA Garofalo Sabina.
From the research and teaching activity carried out in the 3 years of the project, a publication was born which will be a point of reference for the study of pediatric audiology in Italy.
